Today… Mommy & I took a walk

Last night, Mommy and Daddy left me in my crate for a few hours.  When they got home, dinner was late.  But I was tired.  Mommy put the food on the floor and this is how I ate.

I just sprawled on the floor and put my nose in my bowl!  It was yummy.

This morning, after breakfast, Mommy took me for a walk.  Just Mommy and Me.  We made it down the block about 200 yards, Mommy said.  She kept stopping when I pulled too hard on my leash.  And when I got distracted with the blowing leaves, she showed me a treat to get me going the right way.  It was fun!!! 

Later, Mommy put my head collar on again, and I went to the door and rang my bell to go out.  I went out with my head collar on!   Mommy and I walked around the house.   She seemed so very happy.

I was so tired, I took a nice long nap after lunch.  When Mommy came to get me, she had some yummy new treats.  I think she went to the pet store while I was asleep.  I love it when she does that.

What I have been doing lately

Sorry I don’t have any new photos to post.  Mommy says I have been too busy to catch shots of me.

Yesterday, it was really really really windy here.  The snow started to go away and the leaves flew everywhere.  I just could not seem to relax all day.  All I wanted to do was chase the leaves … and eat dirt.  Mommy was not happy with me.

Mommy tried to put me in my crate for a break and I yowled and yowled and yowled.   When she let me out, I paced and whined.

In the afternoon, Mommy took me to the loveseat upstairs.  I curled up and fell asleep on her lap.  I think she slept too.  We both needed it.

Oh, and by the way, Mommy gave me some icky pills yesterday.  I think they upset my tummy too.  It was a very long day!

Today, I am sleeping.  I have been sleeping at Mommy’s feet most of the day. 

Except when I got to wear my head collar.  Mommy held some yummy treats right in front of my nose.  Every time I walked to her, she gave me one.  Finally, we were walking round and round the house.  Mommy said we made 5 laps.  She seemed really happy.

So, that is what I have been doing.  Hopefully, I will stay still a bit and Mommy can take some more pictures to share with everyone.

My New Head Collar

Yesterday, while I was playing with Sammy at the pet store, Mommy bought my first head collar.  The nice lady who owns the store helped Mommy to start to fit it, but Mommy still had some fine tuning to do when we got home.
First, when we got home, Mommy put a yellow ribbon around my neck.  I don’t know why, be she seemed to know what she was doing, so I let her. 
My new head collar is black.  It has a nice soft part that goes over my nose.  I have only had it on three times.  Before Mommy puts it on, she gives me treats while she holds it close to me.  Then she puts the soft part over my nose and attaches the collar part around my neck.
I fuss a bit and try to get it off, so Mommy gives me treats and gets a toy and plays with me.  It really isn’t so bad because I get Mommy’s attention while I am wearing it.
I am still not sure what it is all about.  Mommy keeps saying something about “walks”.  Guess we’ll see what that means.  For now, I just think it means I get extra treats and playtime with Mommy.

Puppy Play-Date

Hi!  My name is Tanner and I am 11.5 weeks old.  I joined my new pack/family just about 2 weeks ago and I really seem to be fitting in well. 

This is a picture of me with my mommy. 

She has been working hard to teach me the things I need to know to fit in with the pack.  So far, I have been working on “good boy”, “Sit”, “Down” and “Stay.”  Every time I get it right, I get a yummy treat.

Yesterday, mommy and I had friends over to play.  This is my new buddy, Max.  His mommy, Kelsey, brought him over to spend the day with mommy and me.

Max is a few months older than me and an only-puppy in his house, so he was not too excited to play with me at first.  But, after we did a bit of sniffing, we got to be good friends and played and played and played.

Today, Mommy took me for my first solo car ride.  It was just her and me!  I sat in the front seat of the big red car.  Before today, mommy always sat in that seat and held me in her arms.  Today, I was on my own. 

My eyes got really big when she put me in the seat and closed the door.  Before, mommy would get in beside me and hold me on her lap.  Thankfully, I could see her through the window as she walked around the front of the car to get into the drivers seat.  She had never done that before either.  The other times, daddy drove. 

I looked around a lot while we drove across the street to the pet store, but mommy kept telling me I was a “good boy” so I must have gotten it right.  At the pet shop, I got to play with Sammy.  I met him the first night I came to live with my new family.  Sammy was fun to play with too. 

Now it is time for my nap.  I really like to sleep under mommy’s work table.  It is a safe place for me and mommy can get some work done too.
