What Mommy Saw

Yesterday, I mentioned that Mommy went away for 6 hours.  I really missed her.  But she brought back some pictures of really pretty things that she saw.  Here are a few of my favorites.

002

Mommy says this one was the “Best of Show”.  I can see why.  It is really fancy.  Bet I could never chew on that if it were at our house.

003

This one looks like some Mommy has around the house.  The difference is, it seems to spin.  Just like I do when I get confused.

005

Mommy also liked this wall hanging of a Native American girl on a pony!  I guess he does not chase his tail much.

006

Mommy says this one put her in the mood for Christmas.  I am not sure what that is, but I guess I will find out soon.

010

Mommy really likes quilts with lots of colors and pretty patterns.

011

012

Check out this beautiful view!!

013

And, WHOOO is this?  Daddy says it’s a barn owl.  Mommy says his name is Oliver.

Mommy took some video of our training this morning.  But she says she still needs to edit it before I can share it.  Hopefully tomorrow.  If not, Monday!

Have a great weekend,

The Quilt Show

After my walk this morning, Mommy told me she was going away for a bit and I would have to stay in my crate.  She gave me a nyla bone and a treat and then left.

She was gone a very long time.  Almost 6 hours.  But she seemed really happy when she got home.  She said she had gone to a quilt show.  I am not sure what that is.  Maybe tomorrow I’ll let her post some photos that she took there.

Today, we are running late on my post.  And because I spent most of the day in the crate, I don’t have a lot to share.

I am working on some new stuff.  Mommy brought home a new book last night.  But more about that later too.

Today, I just want to show off a friend of mine and the collar that Mommy made for her.

This is Stormy.  She is a Boston Terrier.  She lives with Uncle Doug, the nice man who came and played with me the last time Mommy went away for a long time.

Stormy is a bit younger than me, but she has just as much energy.

Mommy wanted to say thank you to Uncle Doug, so she made Stormy a collar with her name on it.  What do you think?  I think it really “pops”!

Hope you all are having a great day.  Mine got so much better when Mommy came home!!

Another day. More Chicken and Rice

I don’t have many photos to share today.  I have been pretty much resting and trying to feel better.  Mommy is feeding me larger portions of Rice and Chicken fewer times during the day.  I am hungry.  I want everything that she has.

003

This is my best hungry face.

Oh, and I even pooped for her last night on our walk.  I have never seen anyone so happy about poop!!  But she was.

I just wish Mommy could relax.  She is a nervous wreck.  She says this is all bringing back memories of a very sad time she had recently.  I don’t know how to make her feel better.

Please, keep Mommy in your prayers.  I want her to relax and be happy again!!

Belly Ache!

Yes, I managed to get one.  Mommy said she should have seen it coming.  She said my poop was a bit softer each day.  She thought maybe I was getting too many treats.  But on Saturday morning, everything revealed itself.

Mommy took me to the vet.  The good news is I weigh 73.2 lbs now.

The other good news it that the vet is a sure as he can be that I have a tummy virus.  He gave me two medicines.  One to stop tummy contractions and one just in case I ate rabbit poop.  I like to eat grass, so that is possible.  And then he sent me home.

Mommy could not give me anything but ice cubes for 24 hours.  Good thing I like ice cubes.  I love to chew them, play with them, chase them… whatever.

Mommy also had a new Nyla bone tucked away for me.  She gave that to me to play with on Saturday too.

As you can see, I was pretty active.  I really enjoyed the new bone.

On Sunday, Mommy started to feed me.  This is my first meal:

002

Boiled chicken and white rice.  I had about 1/3 cup first thing in the morning.

003

Through all of this, I have not lost my interest in food.  I sat right beside Mommy while she fixed my chicken.

004

Then, I sat and waited while Mommy put the bowl on the floor.

005

And when Mommy said I could, I dug in.  It was yummy!!

I got small meals like that all day long.  Mommy says I had about 2 cups of rice and chicken yesterday.  Oh, and two tiny pieces of banana too.  She does not know how many ice cubes I had.  She just kept them coming.

Today, she gave me a bit more food first thing in the morning.  She says I will get about a cup 4 times a day today.

If that goes well, we keep adding and then put my food back in too!  But between you and me, I think I will miss the chicken when it is gone.

Oh, and I should also mention that Meg got sick yesterday too.  She said she felt really dizzy.  So Mommy tucked her in bed and started to feed her good stuff too. She got peanut butter toast, gator aid, turkey and cheese sandwich and an apple.  She seems to be doing better today too.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Tanner

A Bad Night!

Last night was my Level III class.  I have already graduated from Level III, but we still do some good training and a bit of Rally work in class.  So Mommy and I like to keep going until the Rally classes start in a couple of weeks.

But last night was NOT a good night for me.  I just could not seem to behave.

We started with some “Back-up” practice.  I didn’t do too badly at this.

Then, we moved on to a Rally Course.   This is where things start to get ugly!

So, we tried one more time.  Mommy added the music to this one.  She says it has a message from her!

Getting my Attention!

Mommy and I have been working on getting me to pay attention better.  She wants me to focus on her! Not on the treats she has!  Not on the things going on around me!  But on her!  Here is our practice today!  Mommy is getting pretty good with the video editing software and wanted to show off a bit.

Sorry about the really fast part in the beginning.  Mommy is still learning.

I’ll try to post another video in a few days so you can see how I progress!

Stay Cool!

Freestyle!

Mommy thinks I will be good at something called Freestyle!  She has been watching videos of other dogs and their Mommies and Daddies doing freestyle and she thinks it would be fun for us to try.

The problem is, our trainer does not do freestyle.  So we have been visiting other trainers in the area that do.

Last Friday evening was our first visit.

002

I must say, this place was quite a drive for Mommy.  She didn’t really know exactly where she was going, so she put this box on the front of the car and let it talk to her.

004

After about an hour of driving, we pulled up a gravel driveway into a nice parking lot in front of this big yellow building.

003

Other doggies and their Mommies were already there.  And there was a lot of neat looking stuff in the back yard.  But we did not go in there.

006

Instead, we went into the building.  It was really big inside.  It had fences that moved all over the room.  And a big rubbery rug on the floor.  The other doggies took turns showing off their freestyle routines.  This is Cooper and his Mommy.  Cooper is a Golden Doodle who has a problem with his one hind leg.  But he does not dance like he does.

009

This is Mary.  She is the nice lady helping the Mommies and Doggies learn to dance.

013

And this is the banner that their freestyle group uses when it performs.

010

I did some exercises with the other doggies, but I mostly sat and watched.  The doggie laying in front of me has a bad eye, but she sure can dance too!!

011

And you should have seen this English Sheep Dog and his Mommy dance.  You would never have know she has a bad knee!!  They sure could cut a rug!

014

We even got to watch them practice some new tricks!!  Then I showed off a few of mine.  Mommy does not have any shots, because she could not set up the camera the way she does at our class.  But rest assured, I did her proud.

It was a great visit.  We had a wonderful time.  And we are considering going here in the fall.  We have a few more places to check out.  We’ll keep you all posted of our travels and experiences.

Stay cool!

Tanner

A Special Day

My family went away yesterday.  Mommy, Meg and MJ left at 9:00 am.  Mommy fed me and took me for my walk.   Then she put me in my crate and did not come back for a really long time.

Daddy stayed home and he played with me for a bit and made sure I got to potty.  Then Uncle Doug came and gave me my supper, took me for a walk and played with me some more.  But Mommy did come back till really late.

I am not sure where they went, but they all came back really happy.

Mommy brought some photos to show me.  I want to share them with you.

004

This is MJ before they left.  He has been cuddling that grey box and smiling at it for about 6 weeks now.  I am not really sure what it is or why it is so special.  He seemed really nervous before they left.

002

Here is a close-up picture of what is in that grey box.  It sure is shiney!

005

Mommy says this is where they spent part of the day yesterday.  Those horses are really colorful.  And they hold really still.

006

Here’s Meg’s happy smile!

007

And MJ, Kels, Kaliegh, someone we don’t know, Patrick and Amanda waiting to ride the horses.

Mommy says that this is what the horses did!  Kels seems to be having a really good time!

011

And here is MJ, down on his knee between the horses.  He has that grey box out again.  And Kels in really surprised to see the box.  And her sister is crying!

012

Then there was lots of kissing, and cuddling….

014

And shaking!

But everyone seems really happy!  Kels was here first thing this morning.  She and Mommy are going to take that pretty shiny thing to get it fit to her finger.  I guess this was a good day for everyone.  All I know is, I was happy to see Mommy when she got home!

Rally!

I have been super busy since I last posted.  Mommy and I went out on Friday night to see a training facility that we are interested in going to.  And we went out on Saturday to my first Rally Trial.

I’ll tell you all about the new training place tomorrow.  Today, I want to tell you about the Rally trial.

Mommy and I had to get up early to be there by 8:30 am.  We took our walk early then Mommy put my seat belt on and put me in the big car.  I am getting pretty comfortable in her car.  It has a lot of room for me to relax.

002

We drove for about 40 minutes and this is where we ended up.  We still weren’t sure where we were supposed to go from her.  I was excited and Mommy was carrying my porta-crate.  We must have been quite the sight.

004

Magnum’s Mommy was just coming in from her car when we got to the door, so she showed us where to put my stuff.

006

007

Mommy set up my crate beside Lucy’s and she put out my water and we prepared for the day.

003

First, Mommy went to the briefing meeting.  The man in the blue shirt is in charge.  He told all the mommies what was going to happen.

008

Then they started running trials.  My buddy Magnum was in Level 1.  Here he is getting started with his Mommy.

013

Magnum did really well.  By the end of the weekend, he had earned his Level 1 title.

018

Then it was Lucy’s turn.  Here she is with her Mommy getting ready to go in the ring.  She is so focused and so is her Mommy.

022

Lucy did really well too!  I know that she won her Level in the second set of trial, but I have not heard from her Mommy how she did the rest of the weekend.

014

And then, there was me!  You may be asking:  “but how did you do, Tanner?”  Well, Mommy says I did really well.  She said that the best part of the weekend was the time we got to spend together having fun.  We cuddled and I got petted a lot.

Mommy also said I behaved really well.  Usually, when I am close to other dogs, I want to play.  But I was a really good boy and I just laid down and rested… right beside Lucy and Magnum.  Mommy was really proud of me.

Oh, and how did I do in the ring.  Well, first I have to say, I was the only one in the Puppy trial.  But I did pretty well.  I pulled on my leash a lot, and I had 2 crooked sits.  But I got 3 points on my bonus.  My score was 190!  I qualified!!!!

And I got this:

024

I think I had a pretty good day.   Mommy says we need to work on my focus a bit more (what ever that is).  But she is super proud of me.

Hope you all had a good weekend too!

Puppy Kisses,

Tanner
