Black and Whites

Well, yesterday Mommy got some new cookie cutters.  So, I knew what was coming.  She hasn’t started the baking for today, but last night, she and MR finished some cookies that she made on Thursday.

These cookies are made with wheat flour, chicken bullion, honey and molasses.  They were really yummy as just plain cookies.

But look what Mommy did to them last night:

 

First, Mommy coated half of each cookie with melted Carob Chips.  I got to taste these chips before they were melted and I must say, they were yummy too!

Then she melted some white coating disks and coated the other half of the cookies.

Now I have my own “Black and White Cookies.”

Boy are they Yummy!  Can’t wait to see what she makes today.  I wonder if different shapes will taste different?

Guess What I’m Getting

Mommy just went out to get the mail.  When she came back in, she was so excited.  She got a box in the mail.

To me, it looked just like any other box.  But, she was excited.  I watched her open it.  This was what was inside.

She said, it even came with a recipe.  Guess what I am getting tomorrow?

Bet you can already guess.

Sometimes I’m Just Lazy

Everyone says the puppies are full of energy.  We are always busy checking out our world.

But, sometimes, you just have to be lazy.  Here is how I like to eat my dinner.

After all, they put my food on the floor.  Why should I stand up to eat it?

It’s much easier to just lay down and put my face in the bowl.

This is how I chew my bone when I feel lazy.  Why should I hold it when it will stay in my mouth in the position?

And this is how Daddy pets me when I am feeling lazy.  Just between you and me, I think Daddy was feeling lazy too.

Well, I’m off to take a nap.

A Rest-ful Day

Yesterday, I was really tired.  I let Mommy sleep in till 7:30.  We got up, went out, had breakfast, went for a walk, and then….

I took a nap on the futon!

Mommy thought I looked really peaceful!

Then we had supper, took a walk, went to the puppy store,

And I took another nap.

But, Mommy says she got a lot of work done while I rested.  She wanted me to give you a sneak peak of some new collars that I will be sporting soon.

I can’t wait till she finishes them!  Guess I should take naps more often!

The Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny came to my house on Saturday.  He came in a red purse.  Let me explain.

Mommy told me we were going to have company today.  She had been doing all sort of special things.  She was cooking, MR was baking, and they were moving furniture and using that noisy thing to clean the carpets.  I decided to fall asleep under Mommy’s work table.

The excitement really started when I heard Daddy say “They’re Here!”   Mommy put my head collar on to take me up stairs and meet the new people.

When I got into the living room, there were four new people waiting for me.  Mommy made me sit, then she took my head collar off and let me go!!!

And, boy, did I go.  I headed right toward them.  Aunt J (in the pink shirt) had something sticking out of her bag that I just could not resist.  It was a present for me!!!!  Imagine that!!!  It was a pink bunny.  She gave it to me and I went nuts!

When I finally settled down, I decided to see who the people were.

Uncle D and Cousin E were sitting on the couch, so I jumped up to say “Hi!”

Aunt J was sitting on the floor and Cousin K was trying to find a seat.  So I decided to lay on the floor and chew the bunny some more.  It squeeks in 5 places!!!!

Oh, and did I mention that it had a tail too?  That was the first place I managed to get the stuffing out of.  Mommy had to “de-tail” the bunny when she finally took it from me for a bit.

If you are wondering what the Bunny looks like… Mommy had to wait to take a picture till I took a break from playing. 

Mommy says that Bunny already looks well loved.

Thank You, Aunt J, Uncle D, Cousin E and Cousin K for my present!!  I really love it!

We had a great visit with our family.  The people talked and I played, then we ate in the basement at the big tables they had set up, and we all went for a walk.

Cousin E wanted to recreate a photo that the people had taken a long time ago. 

Here is the old photo.  It was taken in 1998!  They were just little like me.

And, here they are today…. All grown up.  I just could not sit still!

Training Continues

I have been to training class twice this week.  I really love to see my friends.  I am lucky that Mommy likes to be early for things.  That way I get to play with some of my friends before class.

Lou and I wanted to play so badly.  We kept sneaking closer and closer together. 

Here we are “sneaking” closer and closer together.

Then Magnum came.  He brought a fuzzy duck toy.  Fleuri wanted to play too.

So she walked right over to him and took hold of the end.  You can tell they have been friends for a while.  Not all doggies are so good about sharing toys.

They played Tug with the toy.  I watched, and thought about trying to get involved.  When I did, Mommy had to put the camera down, so I don’t have a picture.

During class, we are having fun too.  Marta, my trainer, let me run through the tunnel.  She stayed with me at one end.  And MR went to the other.  When she called me I took off running.  All you can see in this shot is my tail and hind end going in.

MR met me on the other end and gave me a yummy treat!

Another fun thing we did at class was to have all the Mommy’s have us puppies sit and stay.  Then they crawled away from us.  As you can see, Magnum isn’t too sure why his mommy is crawling on the floor.  But Lou is taking a nap.  You can see her paws in the back.

Training class is a lot of fun.  I don’t ever want to stop going.  Hope Mommy can find something fun for me to do after this class ends.

Well, I need to go help Mommy clean to get ready for the weekend.  See how I help with the dusting?

How I celebrated my Birthday

Yes, I did party, sort of.  The day started normally enough with Mommy time, Training time, breakfast time and walk time.  Then nap time while Mommy ran some errands.  Then the party started.

We had some friends visit and they had a BABY!!

I wanted to play with her desperately.  MR held her and her daddy Matt held me back. 

When I calmed down, I got to go over and lick and love her.  She tasted really good because she had just had lunch!

Then, Mommy figured out a way we could sort of play together.  She put me in my crate and the baby stayed outside.  She kept reaching in to pet me and I kept giving her kisses.

I really liked it when she giggled!

She even tried to open my crate so I could get out.  Mommy made sure that would not happen though.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with Mommy.

Then Dinner Time came.  This is what Mommy put in my bowl first:

It is a YUMMY granola cookie from Nature’s Pet Place.

I immediately took it out of the bowl and into the living room

Where I proceeded to chomp and chomp

And chomp

Until it was just crumbs.

Then, I licked the carpet clean.

After that, Mommy put my regular food in my bowl and I ate another cup and a half of food.  Guess I am getting ready for a growth spurt.

It was a great Birthday!  I am glad that I get to celebrate one every month for a while.

New Collar

I learned something about Mommy

Mommy likes to bake.  I didn’t know that, until yesterday.  In fact, I was not really sure what “baking” was until yesterday.

Mommy started “baking” while I was taking my nap.  I woke up to some yummy, cheesy smells.  I knew Mommy could make good food, but she made most of it on the counter (my kong) and on top of the big black box in the kitchen.  I was not really sure what the bottom of that big hot black box in the kitchen was for.  Until Mommy opened it yesterday and gave me a sniff.

So, that’s what smells so good!!  It smelled like warm cheese.  I really wanted a taste, but Mommy said they had to do something called “cool”.  All I knew is, I had to wait.

Pout!  Pout!

Mommy started to mix up another batch of treats.  This time, I smelled Peanut Butter and Banana!!!!

She rolled out the dough and cut out bone shapes with a metal cutter.

While Mommy worked to put the cookies on the baking sheet, I decided to get a start on clean-up.  I licked the hand towel clean for her.  At least I didn’t jump up and knock the cookies off the counter.

Mommy filled the black box with the cookies. 

And she still had a little bit of dough left.  She put it in a baggie and put that in the big white box where they keep the cold stuff.

Finally, the other cookies on the counter had cooled.

Mommy said this special shaped one was for me to “taste test”.

I think they pass the test!  You can’t even see the cookie between Mommy’s hand and my mouth.

I had to try a second piece, just to be sure.  This one was a little bit bigger, so I took it in the dining room to really enjoy it.

I lost another tooth yesterday.  Wonder if that means another new toy is coming.

And I got the medal too.  Mommy says I can’t wear it on my collar.  She is getting me a special tag for that.  It should be here in a few days.
